Hagakure

This series of pictures was taken during a photo shoot in a pine forest on the coast of the Japan Sea. During the 13th century, when the Mongol Empire attempted to invade the Japanese archipelago, in the very same place took place several battles between Japanese warriors and Mongol forces. I decided to title this small series Hagakure, that literally means “hidden by the leaves”. Hagakure is also the title of an ancient Japanese book from the early 18th century, which was intended to be a practical and spiritual guide for warriors. Shown in the pictures are Keruk Jeans number KRKxx0007 and KRK0008.
